Agnieszka Skonieczna leads a unit on investment conditions and public services at the Directorate General for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs. Prior to joining DG GROW, she was a member of the cabinet for the Commissioner Thierry Breton and was responsible for investment and digital priorities.

Since joining the European Commission, her work has been at the intersection of innovation, finance and technology, from designing investment funding with financial institutions @DG ECFIN, analysing national tax and investment policies @DG TAXUD, to developing EU’s innovation strategy @DG RTD. Her academic background includes degrees from French, Danish and Polish establishments. She is a 2018 Innovation Eisenhower Fellow, where she developed a project on gender smart financing to get more equity funding into female-led companies.
