Lenoble Damien
Dr. Damien Lenoble performed his PhD Studies at the Centre National d’Etudes des Télécommunications in Meylan, France together with the Varian Semiconductor Research Laboratory, Stanford University Research Park, USA.
He joined the semiconductor company STMicroelectronics (Crolles, France) in 2000, where he was project manager from 2000 to 2003, then Group leader from 2003 to 2005. From 2005 to 2008, he occupied the position of on-site R&D Manager of STMicroelectronics team within the framework of a multi-partners research program in IMEC (Belgium). In 2008, he joined NXP-Semiconductors as Senior Scientist focusing on new technology application opportunities in Technology Research Centre of Leuven in Belgium. Dr. Damien Lenoble moved to Luxembourg in 2009, as the founding head of the Nanomaterials/Nanotechnology Research Unit of the Public Research Centre Gabriel Lippmann. In 2015, he became the deputy-director of the Department Materials Research and Technology – MRT– at the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology – LIST, and is appointed Director of MRT, since September 2018.
He has consolidated the compelling Materials Strategy of LIST which substantially links the excellence in scientific research with the development of disruptive technologies tackling the ever challenging demands of complex solutions for the digital, cleantech, manufacturing and health sectors. He is serving as executive director for LIST, and also leads the executive committee of the recently launched sustainable composite materials and manufacturing innovation centre. He is (co-)author of more than 100 scientific & technology publications in the fields of nanotechnology and advanced (nano)materials for technology applications. He is (co-)inventor of more than 50 international granted patents.
