The Basque Research and Technology Alliance (BRTA) anticipates future global socioeconomic challenges and answers to them through research and technological development. The research centres in the alliance collaborate to generate knowledge and transfer it to Basque society and industry to make them more innovative and competitive.

BRTA is an alliance of 17 technology centres and cooperative research centres: Azterlan, Azti, Ceit, CIC bioGUNE, CIC biomaGUNE, CIC energiGUNE, CIC nanoGUNE, Cidetec, Gaiker, Ideko, Ikerlan, Leartiker, Lortek, Neiker, Tecnalia, Tekniker and Vicomtech, with the support of the Basque public administration.
