Bernard Vanderheyden leads the ‘Metal Production & Recycling’ Unit at CRM Group, managing a portfolio of R&D projects in iron- and steelmaking, metal recycling and environment. He is involved in several regional and European circular economy networks, a.o. within ESTEP and Prometia.

Last year he was appointed chairman of the TGA1 iron- and steelmaking Experts Group advising the European Commission on the related Research Fund for Coal & Steel (RFCS) projects portfolio, a.o. with respect to Green Deal and Clean Steel Partnership objectives.
