Kirsi has M.Sc. (Public Health) from University of Helsinki, Department of General Practice and Primary Health Care. She has been working in the European Commission for more than 20 years in various positions in the area of health, medical and environmental research and also on research and innovation policy.    

Currently, as a Head of Unit of Valorisation Policies & IPR, she is in charge of fostering policies for knowledge valorisation and deployment of research and innovative solutions across Europe.
