CRM Group develops at lab, pilot and industrial scales a wide range of key enabling technologies for converting industrial and post-consumer waste streams into valuable secondary metal resources, contributing to the sustainability and competitiveness of its industrial members and partners.

As a first example, we will demonstrate the Horizon Europe funded project ‘CAESAR’ aiming to reduce impurities in ferrous scrap, allowing to increase recycling rates and to reduce the carbon footprint of steel industry, while achieving the same quality of finished products. Further examples concern our unique pilot scale plasma furnace, supporting the  development of carbon neutral steelmaking processes, valorisation routes for the associated new slags, and recycling processes for critical raw materials (CRM’s) used in the energy transition. Induction heating and vacuum distillation techniques used to separate or purify metals will also be highlighted.
